Southern Ocean Lodge
Kangaroo Island, South Australia
Southern Ocean Lodge has reopened for bookings with guests to benefit from the luxury lodge’s $50-million-dollar redevelopment. The lodge was destroyed by bushfires, but has been rebuilt even better than before, with the siting of the 25 luxurious guest suites tweaked to capture more of the Southern Ocean and coastal wilderness views.
The lodge will welcome its first guests in December 2023 with a new ultra-premium suite that features a wet-edge pool and a private outdoor terrace that can accommodate up to four bedrooms or be reconfigured as two separate suites. Lucky guests can mingle in the main lodge, make use of the gymnasium, sauna, and hot and cold plunge pools with bushland views, relax in the infinity pool and enjoy treatments at the Southern Spa.

Bougle Run
Tasmania
Players of all abilities will relish playing at Bougle Run, a challenging new 14-hole addition to the world-class Barnbougle Golf complex. The course’s elevated tees provide incredible views, alongside Barnbougle’s two other two world-class courses, the 18-hole Dunes and 20-hole Lost Farm.
Designed by internationally acclaimed architect Bill Coore, Bougle Run aims to challenge and excite golfers who can prolong their stay to complete all three courses with three dining and several accommodation options for an on-site stay.

JUVENILE BLACK MARLIN
Hervey Bay, Queensland
With some giant black marlin weighing in excess of 450 kilograms (1,000 pounds), it’s no wonder they are on the Australia’s Dreamtime Dozen list of the most exciting sport fishing target species or groups of fish. Anglers keen to bag a black marlin will want to head to southern Queensland, and more specifically to the flats of Hervey Bay — one of the only known places in the world where you can watch juvenile black marlin cruising in calm, pristine waters.
Hervey Bay Sport Fishing Charters offer customisable trips for anglers with local guides who are experienced in tracking juvenile black marlin as well as golden trevally, queenfish and longtail tuna. Fish gather along the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef in large numbers in the summer months, making it one of the world’s richest and most diverse saltwater sport fishing destinations.

Held in the gallery’s magnificent new north building, the exclusive immersive cultural evening led by an Indigenous host is all the more special because it takes place when the rest of the gallery is closed.
A five-course meal featuring Indigenous ingredients with wines curated by a celebrity chef provides an opportunity for in-depth discussions with your host before an up-close encounter with the gallery’s extensive Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art collection. Ensuring the magical evening is even more unforgettable, guests receive a professional photograph of the dinner plus a special gift.
